to build a third hometown for urbanites -
to find their own comfortable distance

rural resort concepts,
in hope of giving this land the vitality it deserves
with the derived concept of a village within a village.

Villagers in Beigou have taken part in the construction and operation of all projects.
They would also convert their own houses into a homestay.
Nowadays, the village has a clear division of occupations, property company, cleaning team, construction team
as well as gardening team, chef team, service team, logistics support team... etc participating in the village’s life
with also infrastructure construction, greenery, sanitation

Starting with an old gas power station, the designers have sensitively and closely connected
the artificial space and the nature, space to space, new and old,
creating a new village-yard neighborhood ecology specially for urbanites,
to eliminate the urbanized sense of loneliness.
- Easy and quiet · Free and relieved
- All urbanites hope to completely relax the body and soul. Since the resort is like a village, it is, therefore, the essence in the design of San Sa to balance the wholeness and privacy.
- Both inheritance and renovation are necessary
- In the new urban context, the concept of neighborhood has almost disappeared, which makes people in the same building look like strangers and do not know each other. Although San Sa is in the north, it does not follow the northern architectural tradition, but adopts the southern traditional community ecology of "courtyard neighborhood" to allow guests to re-examine their lives, sitting in the yard, no longer feelling disturbed by such close neighbors, drinking tea quietly and looking at the stars.
